Marie, from Arney outside Enniskillen, is one of a musical family of seven, her mother being her biggest fan! From the age of 13 she played in a band with her brother Gerard, who accompanies her on guitar on this album. At 19 she brought her music with her through the doors of the Mercy Convent in Clogher, Co. Tyrone and has graced many a celebration in the intervening years. Her religious family have always encouraged her talent. Her first album “The Water is Wide” was released on vinyl and cassette in 1987. Between 1994 – 2006, in conjunction with Sr. Briege O’Hare, a Sister of St. Clare, she collaborated on six successful albums which explored the women mystics and Celtic spirituality. This latest album is a compilation `of contemporary songs which can be interpreted on many levels.
